Muggle Mail for YOU!

Hi my fellow Caffeinated Crafters!!!!  I am over on the Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps blog today with a magical card featuring some “favorite-boy-wizard” inspired stamps!! They are called Owl with LetterOwl Post, and Letter of Hogwarts.  The sentiment used is called Favorite Muggle.

I thought I would try my hand at a version of the technique for this month, Monochrome.  I started by stamping the smaller  letter and postage stamp all over my card base in Acorn ink from Versafine Clair ink pads. My cardstock is a rust-brown color, so I went with browns for my monochrome focus.  The Owl and sentiment were stamped in Acorn ink as well onto a serperate piece of the same cardstock.  I used my colored pencils to add some shading in browns to the owl, and a grayish-brown pencil to shade the envelope a bit.  I love coloring on Kraft paper with colored pencils, this was somewhat reminiscent of that!

To finish off the card, I inked up the edge of the own panel with the Acorn ink, and then adhered it to the front of the stamped background with foam tape for some dimension on an otherwise flat card.

Have you ever done a monochromatic card??  I would love to hear about it!!

Be sure to check out the Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps Flaunt it if you Made it Facebook group and share all your fun creations. There is chances at some $$$$ towards your next fabulous stamp purchase, be sure to play along!
