These little octopi steal the show!  They are stinking cute!!!  For my first card I had a lot of fun making a  scene and no line watercoloring them.  I started with an A2 panel of bristol cardstock, and used an ocean scene stencil from my stash to ink blend my background using Distress Oxides.

Next I stamped the images using Inkon3 fadeout ink.  I can’t rave enough about this ink, AND you can even get it at THRD now!!  Omgeeee, it’s a game changer for no line coloring!  I opted to watercolor them using Tombow markers, and then fussy cut them out to pop up on my panel using foam dots.  I heat stamped my sentiment using Versamark ink and heat embossed in white.  I had these adorable clear hearts in my stash, and thought given the sentiment they would make adorable “bubbles” around the octopi (I love that word btw!).

For my second card I wanted to do something quite a bit different.  The set has a bunch of cute images, but I really was drawn to the ink splotches!  I used my stamping platform and a rainbow of VersaClair inks to stamp a panel of splotches.  the panel was matted on black cardstock and then adhered to a white A2 card base.  I heat embossed the coordinating sentiment on black cardstock with white EP.  I matted the black sentiment strip on white, and then chose to lightly ink the edges of the white cardstock with blue ink to frame it just a little more.  I popped up the sentiment on the panel with foam tape and the card was done!

I really love how easily this card came together with such a fun result!  I see these splotches in an array of uses in my crafty future….stay tuned!!

The inspiration hop is in full swing and the THRD design team has some Ahh-Mazing things to show you all, so be sure to keep hoppin along!

  3. Rainbow ink splots are super creative! Must. Have. This. Set. I’m a teacher and at my school all employees and students are divided into “houses”, Harry Potter style. I’m in house Acceptance, and our mascot is the octopus (more arms to be more accepting). I will make SO many cards with this set!
