Cardmaking, The Rabbit Hole Designs

A little Sass never hurt

Hello everyone’s! Welcome me to day 1 of The Rabbit Hole Designs new release Inspiration Hop! This release is absolutely adorable! Today showcases a whimsical and fun unicorn set appropriately named Sassy! I love the unicorns, and those sentiments crack me up!

You should have arrived here from Katie’s blog, but if you are just starting or are skipping around, there is a complete link up list at the end of the post!

My first card features Sassy along with a new TRHD stencil called Candy Twist. I started my background by inking Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar distress Oxides over the stencil, and then a layer of the gorgeous Vicki Boutin Glitter paste. I am a sucker for sparkle and that paste is awesome! I stamped my images and heat embossed them all in gold. Next I fussy cut the unicorn and clouds out, opting to only use the clouds without the hearts.

Next I die cut some clouds out of vellum and white cardstock and heat embossed my sentiments in the same good embossing powder as my unicorn and clouds. I layered the clouds across the bottom, popping up the white clouds with foam tape for dimension. Final touches were done with a touch of gray watercolor to shade the unicorn and a sprinkle of my TRHD sequin mix! Making the card #magicalaf!

For my second card I ink blended a night sky using Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire, and Seedless Preserves Distress oxides and used a wet paper towel to oxidize the colors. I used heavy gesso over the new Circles and Stars stencil, I love how it absorbed some of the background color.  The bottom cloud I die cut then inked a little Seedless Preserves on the top edge to transition it with my background.

My dreamy unicorn was stamped in VersaClair Nocturne Ink and watercolored using my Zig Real Brush pens. The sentiment was stamped using Inkon3 Blackout ink.  I am new to this ink brand, and am really enjoying the results! On my card base I added a strip of gold glitter washi tape on each side, and then the card panel was trimmed some on each side added to the base using foam tape. Final touches were a few scattered sequins from my stash.

Unicorns are a timeless addition to any project!  I love the whimsy they bring, and this set does NOT fall short!  OH!  Did you hear?!?  The Rabbit Hole Designs stamps are now available at Simon Says Stamps!!  YAY!!
