Reach for the Stars ft. TLC Designs

Hello and welcome! I am back today with another fun card featuring stamps and dies from TLC Designs! Today’s card is interactive!! You can see it “in action” over on my Instagram today as well!

I have been hooked on the cute little dragons from TLC Designs….they are just so fun to color! I have been itching to try no line coloring with Copic markers, since it is a newer coloring medium for me, I decided to grab Sweetie and give it a go!

I failed to write down my colors again, but leave me a comment if you want me to figure them back out! (I will just for you!) I learned a lot coloring up this cheeky dragon, and had loads of fun as well!

To make my card as fun as my little dragon, I decided he should *reach for the stars*!! I grabbed the Star Spangled Confetti dies and made my card base, and layers.

SIDENOTE! If you have been following along with my recent posts, you know I have been HOOKED on the gel press as of late for backgrounds!! I accidentally discovered a cheat (to me lol) for creating “layered” mixed media backgrounds. Grab TLC Design’s Watercolor Naturals digi paper, and then create some light layers with ink on top with the gel press!! I used the blue toned paper here, and added some stencil work and color tone changes with the gel press and am in LOVE!!

Now back to the card….

I used the interactive components for the See you in the Center die set to create the mechanism for Sweetie to reach his stars with.. The end result worked great! I did have to use the die to add a curve so the dial handle was reachable, but the star shaped card held up nicely!

I seem to rarely decorate the inside of my card…but it is a huge missed opportunity on my part! I used the confetti star die that just cuts the decorative outline to die cut the front flap of the card, as it is hidden by the card panel on the front–allowing the black to peek through! Then I grabbed my Sweetie stamp again and a blue ink and stamped the dragon and the sentiment on the inside of the card. I love how it “finishes” the card!

That finishes up my card for today! I will be back next Monday with another fun TLC designs project. Be sure to follow me on Instagram and Facebook too, and subscribe to me on YouTube to keep up with all my caffeinated adventures!
