Hello everyone! I am happy to be back with another blog post as a design team member for TLC Designs! Did you take my advice last week and check them out?? YOU SHOULD!! Head over and take a peek at their shop HERE.
Today I am working with some of TLC Design’s newest digital illustrations, Snow Family Fun Mail. There is also a pre-colored version available here for super quick and easy card making! I made a standard A2 card featuring the adorable snowman, adding the Top Hat, bird, and mailbox from the set to complete my scene.
I decided I wanted a non-traditional background for this card, that was a bit wintery. I chose to use one of the fabulous prints from the Snow Family Fun Digi Paper set. The pink and white harlequin pattern caught my eye and I thought it would be fun to stencil some opaque snowflakes over the patterned paper for an extra wintery touch! I love how they turned out! A great way to add a special flair to pattern papers!
While the snowflakes were drying I colored my digi illustrations using my Copic markers, and fussy cut them out. I decided to add the birdhouse from the Scalloped Rectangle Garden die set as well—to tie in with cute little bird in the digi stamp set. I colored the bird something like a Robin (I think! LOL) and perched it on top of the birdhouse.
To create my snowdrifts I grabbed the Land and Sea dies and used the stitched hillside die AND the wave die! I turned the waves upside down for a fun snow drift effect. I added some chunky iridescent glitter paste to the snow banks and on top of the mailbox and birdhouse as well for some texture and bling! I nestled in my images and die cuts into the layers of snow , glueing them directly to the card panel. Lastly, my sentiment was cut into a strip and mounted with foam tape to complete the card.
Bonus!! TLC Designs is having a special stocking stuffer sale that ENDS TODAY!! Be sure to head over and grab a few things from your wishlist! Santa won’t mind the help this year.. 😉
That finishes up my card for today! I will be back next Monday with another fun TLC designs project. Be sure to follow me on Instagram and Facebook too, and subscribe to me on YouTube to keep up with all my caffeinated adventures!
See you soon,
