Hello everyone! I am excited to be sharing my very first blog post as a design team member for TLC Designs! If you haven’t heard of them before you **NEED** to check them out! The dies are simply ahh-mazing, and the stamps are adorable! Head over and take a peek at their shop HERE.
Today I am working with some of TLC Design’s digital illustrations. Digi Stamps are a ton of fun–best part is no need to find a physical space to store! They can also be manipulated to whatever your project requirements are. Making a tag with a matching card? Digi stamps can be sized small to fit your tag, and then larger for your card! Easy peasy! I am going to show you today how I made a slimline panel (with cut lines to trim to size after you print even!) and manipulated a single digi stamp to create a border frame all the way around my card.
Slimline are all the rage in the cardmaking universe right now. They are traditionally sized to fit a #10 envelope. I size mine at 3.5″ x 8.5″ and love them. Some people size a bit larger at 4″x10″, you do whatever makes you happy 🙂 My tutorial is easy to adapt to all sizes, even the newer mini slimline size at 3″ x 6″ !
Here is a quick video on my YouTube channel explaining how I created the card panel on my laptop. I use a MacBook with Pages for my word processor, but Microsoft Word, or Google Docs would work very similar. Let me know in the comments if you have any other questions, I will try to answer to best of my ability.
In my Slimline today I am using the present digi stamp from the One Eyed Harry digi stamp set from TLC Designs. I love how I was able to take a non-Christmas stamp and make it work for my holiday card! Such versatility makes my crafty heart happy! I colored all the presents with my Copic markers, and then colored in the backdrop black. I grabbed some glitter washi tape from my stash to add the diagonal stripes in the background as well! For my sentiment I used one from the new Snow Family Fun Tree digi stamp set….Did you see the snowmen in that set!?! *Sigh* Winter magic!
For the edging on my slimline panel, I chose to gran one of the gorgeous dies from the Apple a Day die set. I did some partial die cutting so I only trimmed the edge with the die. I love how it fancied up my boring rectangle panel! Have you done partial die cutting before?? It is a great way to stretch the dies you already own, and create more ways to use the ones you *need*!
That finishes up my card for today! I will be back next Monday with another fun TLC designs project. Be sure to follow me on Instagram and Facebook too, and subscribe to me on YouTube to keep up with all my caffeinated adventures!
See you soon,
