Hello and welcome to day 5 of the 12 days of Tags collaboration!!
Over the next 12 days, my friend Amanda over at Twiddler’s Nook and I are going to share different Christmas tag ideas with you. We’re hoping to inspire you to spice up your gift wrapping this year. Be sure to check out both blogs and leave comments for a chance to win at the end of our 12 days.
Amanda and I are giving away 2 prizes each. A gift certificate for $15 to Newton’s Nook, $15 to Trinity Stamps and we’ve both created loaded envelopes with handmade goodies from us! We will each choose an Instagram commenter and a blog commenter. That’s a chance at 1 of 4 prizes! Comment each day because you never know which day will be the lucky one.
Today I used this year’s collaboration Holiday Seals stamp set from The Stamping Village. I couldn’t find any in stock, but I linked to one for reference! I love all the designs in this set, but today I chose to focus on one design so I could mass produce A LOT of them! I used the hero arts image and an old Uchida tag punch to make about 40 of these cuties! I plan on adding them to treats to give away as gifts this holiday season.
Here is a glimpse of my set up. I chose not to use my stamp positioned as I was only using one stamp. I pre-punched all the tags out of 80 lb white cardstock and then used the sticky side of painter’s tape to hold 4 of them in place at a time. I then used VersaMark ink to stamp the image on 4 tags, then took them off the tape one by one and sprinkled them with embossing powder. Then I carefully set them aside while I repeated the process over until all the tags were stamped. I heat set all the tags next, as I find grouping tasks together makes mass production go a lot more quickly.
Next, I used the same tape set up I had used for the stamping to hold the tags in place while I ink blended a somewhat ombre effect from the bottom of the tags upward. I truly love how elegant these look once all done. You can write on the back of the tags, or just add them to the package for decoration!
That wraps up my post for today. Be sure to leave a comment both here and over at Twiddler’s Nook , and then if you are still with us, hop on over to Amanda’s and my Instagram accounts for even more chances to win a prize!!
