Come Frappy Camp with me!

Hello caffeinated friends! I am excited today to be hopping along with Trinity Stamp Company and the talented design team over at the Coffee Loving Cardmakers!  We are celebrating and coming together to showcase a collaboratively designed stamp set by both teams!  We all played a part in the concept and creation of this set, and are excited to show it off to all of you! I chose to create a snowy winter scene featuring the camper from the Frappy Camper set.  I paper pieced and fussy cut the camper out, actually choosing to cut off the grass so the hitch looks like it is sitting in the snow.  I wanted a really neutral scene, although I ADORE the coffee elements of this set (well duh!) I wanted to show how versatile it is can that it is fun to use in ANY scene.

For the background, I started by ink blending a A2 bristol paper panel using my Trinity blending buddy and Distress Oxides in Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire.  I spritzed it with water and let it dry.  Next I took the Autumn Tree stencil from Trinity stamps and used Walnut Stain distress oxide ink to color the trees in from the sides of the cards.  Next I played with some Ranger texture paste over the trees.  The texture paste starts as white, but when applied over the oxide ink, picks up the color it is applied over.  I then used a toothpick and scratched off some of the paste to add a bit of definition on the branches.

I used the same texture paste to create my snowy hill, applying it liberally and then lifting the spatula up to create to texture.  I kept my sentiment simple, choosing “one for the road” from the Frappy Camper set.

I really love how this card came together, and I could totally see myself making this in a bunch of different “seasons” for the scene.
