Hello and welcome! I am super excited to be sharing a project today as part of a collaboration between The Rabbit Hole Designs and Thermoweb! We have a bunch of fun projects lined up for you all week long, so stay tuned!
The month of October ushers in the Fall, and of course has the fun added bonus of Halloween….but I really take October to remember my grams, who passed away from breast Cancer in 2002. I miss her lots, and like to reflect on her a lot in the month of October as we honor Breast Cancer Awareness month and show our support with the color pink.
The Rabbit Hole Designs went above and beyond this year, and created a stamp set specifically with Breast Cancer Awareness and support in mind, The Fearless Bundle. Part of all proceeds from the sale of the stamp set was also donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
To pair up with Thermoweb, I used pink foil! Specifically, Deco Foil transfer sheets in Pink Quartz. I don’t actually own a laminating machine ( I know…*gasp*) so I used the Deco Foil Adhesive Pen in addition to some clear embossing powder from my stash to make my card today. Here is how I did it:
I used the TRHD Circles and Stars stencil for my background, but since I was using the Deco Foil Adhesive pen, I was able to selectively only fill in the dots on the stencil, giving me a polka dot pattern. Once the adhesive was dry, I applied the foil. For my pink ribbon, I stamped the image first in Versa mark ink and heat embossed it in with clear embossing powder. Then I placed it on top of a piece of foil, flipping it over so I could re-heat the back side of the embossed image and apply pressure to bond the foil to the melted embossing powder. I fussy cut the ribbon and mounted it to the card over a die cut scalloped circle, trimmed to fit the base. My sentiment strip was stamped with Versa Clair ink in Glamorous, and popped up with foam tape.
Be sure to swing on by the Thermoweb and The Rabbit Hole Designs blogs to see some more ahh-mazing inspiration. The 2 teams will be bringing all sorts of fun all week long. OH! Did I mention there is a prize involved?? Yep!! Take a peek here:
