Growing in Unity: Day 3

Hello!  I have a pair of cards today for Day 3 of my Growing in Unity adventure!

I am a Autumn girl through and through….Who just happens to be stuck in the heat of California!  AAAhhhhh!!!!!  Seriously, I am soooo ready for fall!  When this KOM came in my mailbox, I knew I just HAD to ink of those spectacular leaves!  The kit is called Warm and Cozy, couldn’t have said it better myself!

I started by watercoloring the leaves with Tombow markers, and then I fussy cut them all out.  I tried to be fairly traditional with my colors, but the dusty pinks snuck in there too!  My backgrounds were made simply by scribbling the same colors I had used on the leaves onto an acrylic block and then spritzing it with water and smooshing it onto a watercolor paper A2 panel.  Easy peasy!

My sentiment came from the Pretty Darn Amazing KOM that I featured on Day 1 this week as well (I told you I liked that whole kit!!).  I heat embossed it in a platinum embossing powder for a bit of shimmer and shine!

Next up I made fun little “hidden” sentiment shaker card.  The sequins hide part of the sentiment, and you need to shake it to reveal!  Guess what KOM the floral frame and sentiment came from??  Yup! Pretty Darn Amazing for the win again!  I simply cut out the center of it to make my window!

I did a ink smooshed background to add a bit of interest to my woodgrain colored paper. It did warp the paper a little, but I like it still!  I covered my window with some acetate and stamped my sentiment directly onto my background.  I popped up the frame with 2 layers of foam tape and then added my sequins.  The sequins are a mix of my favorite pinks from Trinity Stamp Company (my favorite embellishment place ever!)

Well, that wraps up day three for me!!  Let me know what you thought in the comments and be sure to come back and see me tomorrow!!  Thanks for stopping by!
