Hello to all my caffeinated friends!! I am sharing my Coffee date card featured over on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog today! I was invited on my “date” by the one and only Katie Brooks. Be sure to swing over there and read the whole post and see her card too!!
I used a stamp I had yet to ink up for some reason, but have loves since I first saw it! CLC super sponsor Waffle Flower Coffee Time stamp and die set! I love how the stamp looks hand drawn with its less than perfect straight lines.
For our coffee date, we both pulled inspiration from this photo:
I was very much drawn to the rainbow-esque color palette and pulled from my Versa Clair inks to try and match the tones. I used Golden Meadow, Glamorous, Charming Pink, Paradise, and Warm Breeze Versa Clair ink pads to mimic the color scheme in the inspiration photo.
I started by stenciling some coffee rings in the rainbow of colors using a Tim Holtz stencil in my stash. Then I stamped one cup per a color and die cut them out. I clustered them a little wonky and overlapped in the center of my card and adhered them all flat. My sentiment comes from the MFT set LLD Perk Up.
I used my stamping platform to partially ink the stamp in each color, allowing for an ombre look. The sentiment was cut out and then matted again on white, inking the edges in one of the coordinating blues. I mounted the sentiment strip with some foam tape for a bit of dimension.
I had so much fun playing along with Katie for our coffee date!! A big shout out to her for the invitation!!! Thank you friend 🙂
