Hello caffeinated crafty friends! I am excited this month to join a few fellow crafters who share my devotion to coffee as well this month! Deb, Celeste, and I are teaming up for a trio of fun coffee-inspired projects that we hope you will all enjoy!
I stumbled upon this tutorial over at Ribbons and Glue and knew exactly what I wanted to make. The paper coffee mug is so stinking cute and super versatile….simply change the paper theme to match your season or reason. I can envision personalized birthday mugs, Valentine’s gift, Teacher appreciation gift….the list goes on and on! I of course settled on Christmas for my theme and just had to use these gnome stamps I have had in my stash for a while now. Pretty positive they came as a freebie with a magazine, although I cannot recall which one, sorry! I filled it with yummy Christmas chocolates, because who doesn’t like chocolate with their coffee?!?
I stamped the gnome, present, and sentiment all out on some mixed media paper by Canson. I love this paper when I am undecided as to whether I want to use colored pencils, markers, or watercolors…It holds up pretty good to all of them as long as I don’t get it too wet. I chose to color this cutie with my Zig real brush pens. I am a sucker for watercoloring in general as you might have realized if you have had a chance to see some of my other projects.. I found a poinsettia die cut from Spellbinders that pulled from the paper I used for the cup. The paper is from Echo Park’s “Very Merry Christmas” collection. I grounded the images all together on a 3 inch circle to finish it off.
How are your Christmas crafting projects going? I am generally still creating through Christmas Eve, but loving it all along the way. My coffee keeps me going strong! Currently my favorite is Trader Joe’s French Roast. I love dark blends, topped with creamer of course! My friend Rosemary gave me this cup last year around this time…Perfection!
Be sure to let me know what you think below, and be sure to check out the other projects my talented craft friends have created! You won’t be disappointed!
